Pruning
I have often told clients that pruning is
subjective to interpretation. When meeting with a client we listen
to their concerns first, then make recommendations based on the
clients wants and what the tree needs.
Pricing can vary on a multitude of factors such
as the amount of details the client wants to invest, the degree of
difficulty involved in pruning, if we have to climb or if we have
access for a man lift. So it is always best to specifically
identify the pruning scope in writing.
When someone gives you a bid to trim your trees
ask that all work be done in accordance with the
ANSI A-300 pruning guidelines. This
pruning standard basically spells out the language for every type
of pruning there is. Based on your wants, the trees needs and the
arborist's recommendations, you may elect to do combinations of
the following;
-
crown raising
-
thinning
-
restoration
-
reduction
