Mulch
Our mulch is created as a result of tree limbs
and logs being run through a wood chipper. Branch
Management Tree Care is committed to sound environmental
practices. We never send any wood product into a landfill. It is
all brought to our wood yard in Sanford where it is stockpiled and
aged to create a carbon rich hardwood mulch product.
The mulch is an earthy, dark brown natural
looking mulch that has begun the decomposition process. It is
stored in a large pile that heats up on the inside due to the
activity of the microbes decomposing the carbon. What that means
for you is that you get a product that is weed seed free and will
improve your soil due to the fine organic components created
during composition. Not only will our mulch provide all the
traditional benefits of hardwood mulches such as weed suppression,
moisture retention and moderation of soil temperatures, it has
many other benefits that other mulches can't offer.
Since it already has begin to decompose, there are fine organic
particles that are able to enter your soil quickly and improve
soil conditions by adding organic matter. Compacted soils are a
leading cause in premature tree deaths and tree failure during
severe weather. The addition of organic matter improves compacted
soils. Organic matter also improves drainage and provides a site
where chemical nutrients can bond to so that they are not washed
away and can be made available to your plants.
